Non-subscription audio-on-demand streaming is the unpaid transmission of an audio product chosen by the consumer that is not intended to generate a download and that can be listened to when the user desires (e.g. Internet listening site). However, this type of streaming may generate advertising or other revenues.

What rights does this license authorize?

This license authorizes you to:

• Reproduce all or part of a musical work in SODRAC’s repertoire for the purpose of transmitting it in file format to consumers in Canada via the Internet or another similar computer network, including by wireless transmission.
• Authorize an individual to reproduce the musical work for the purpose of delivering a file that to the service provider for reproduction and transmission purposes.

The following use is not authorized:

• A musical work may not be associated with a product, a service, a cause or an institution for advertising or promotional purposes.

How to obtain a license

Licenses for on-demand streaming of audio files are granted by SODRAC.

Royalties

• 4.6% of gross revenues or operating costs, subject to a minimum of $250 per month.
