On June 2, 2010, the federal government tabled Bill C-32 (entitled the Copyright Modernization Act) in the House of Commons. We had been looking forward to the introduction of this new legislation. However, we have come to the conclusion that unless Bill C-32 is amended significantly, it will have a major impact on your royalties. The bill died on the order paper with the federal election call in March 2011, but it could soon be proposed as a new bill.
