Copyright Board of Canada approves SODRAC’s applications concerning reproduction rights for television and video-copies
On November 2, 2012, the Copyright Board of Canada issued a ruling in favour of authors, composers and music publishers represented by SODRAC in connection with the arbitration proceedings involving the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation/Société Radio-Canada (CBC/SRC) and Astral’s specialty TV channels.

Certification of the “Pending List” Canadian Class Action Lawsuit :
On 30 May 2011, the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario certified the class action and approved the tripartite agreement reached between SODRAC and CMRRA, four record companies (majors) and the plaintiffs to pay songwriters and music publishers for outstanding “pending list” claims under the class action filed in Canada in 2008 by the estate of Chet Baker.
